A visit to Amorín, a parish of Tomiño. The Miño river.




Today we visit the parish of Amorín in Tomiño. We will see the river Furnia and its Aula Abierta de la Naturaleza (´Open Classroom of Nature´), the river dock located in a former sand extraction area in the river Miño and the Parish Church of San Juan/Xoán.




Amorín is one of the 15 parishes in the Municipality of Tomiño. It is located to the south of the Province of Pontevedra, on the River Miño near the mouth.

The river dock.

Former sand extraction area of the river Miño, in the place called A Ribeira today there is a pier, river beach and a recreational area. There is also a small monument tribute to the fishermen.

River Furnia and  Aula Abierta de la Naturaleza (´Open Classroom of Nature´).

Explanatory panels of various species of fauna and flora that inhabit the area were placed. This interesting initiative was promoted by the Neighborhood Association of Amorín.

Parish Church of San Juan/Xoán de Amorín.

The Church is of Baroque style, it was built in 1780. There is a stone cross of 1900.
