we visit the Municipality of A Pobra do
Caramiñal, on the north bank of the Ría
de Arousa, southwest of the province of A
Coruña. We will see the Church and Rectory House of Santa María do Xobre.
The
church is located in a place of singular beauty, next to the beach O Areal with beautiful views of the
beach, the town center of A Pobra do
Caramiñal, the port and the Ría de
Arousa.

Today
we visit the Municipality of A Pobra do

We
begin here the Part 3 of our visit to the Palacio
de Gelmírez. We are on the first floor, have just left behind the room in
which was the old kitchen of the Palacio,
from the Romanesque period. Now we go into the corridor and we head toward the
next room, to our left.
Today
we visit the municipality of Noia in the province of A Coruña, it also gives
name to the Ría de Muros y Noia. We
will see the Tambre Hydroelectric Power Plant, the imposing building designed
by the architect Antonio Palacios and built in 1932. Also we will walk along
the pedestrian walkway beside the River Tambre, the suspension bridge and the
old medieval pesqueiras for lamprey
fishing.

After
seeing the room in the lobby with the first two panels of the exhibition, we go
outside the building. From here (42.880761, -8.545039) you
can see part of the north facade of the Basilica of the Cathedral, in which we
see two coats of arms and some corbels.
We
visit the Palacio de Gelmírez (the
Palace of Gelmirez) and San Francisco y
su Tiempo (St. Francis and His Time) Exhibition in Santiago de Compostela.
The exhibition commemorates, together with other events, the VIII centenary of
the pilgrimage of St. Francis of Assisi to Santiago.

Today
we visit the Port of Escarabote. It is part of Lampón which is one of the eight
parishes that make up the municipality of Boiro. We are on the north bank of
the Ria de Arousa, which belongs to
the province of A Coruña. The south
bank of the Ría is in the province of Pontevedra.
