Way of Saint James. Portuguese Way. Tui. Crossing the River Miño. Part 2.

As already mentioned, here 42.040187, -8.644607 the Way in its current route approaches the river bank from the International Bridge.
Here the Way turns left down the street called Camiño da Barca. It will go towards the Cathedral of Tui that it is located at the top of the town. Today we are going to follow the path to the right to walk the beautiful riverside promenade down to the marina where the sailing club Club Náutico San Telmo is.

We can see the stone with the pilgrim emblem, a scallop shell. It guides pilgrims. There is also another signal stone. It is smaller than the other and it is at the centre of the picture. It guides hikers walking the path called Senda PR G 19 along the River Miño.
Here we start our walk along the Riverside Promenade of Tui (Paseo Fluvial de Tui).

It is believed that here the Roman Road XIX crossed the Miño by a wooden bridge.

Now we leave the pier and we approach to the washing place beside the fountain of Santo Domingo.

This is the fountain of Santo Domingo. It was built in 1718. We can see the emblem of the town of Tui.

The emblem of the town: A silver half moon on the right side and three golden stars on the left. We can see the date of construction, 1718. It is written in stone.
We begin the way back. These are the stairs leading us back to the riverside promenade.
