This is the tower of the church.

This is a monolith located on the outside of the church beside the tower. There are a wide variety of commemorative plaques of various associations and institutions linked to the Way of Saint James all dedicated to the memory of D. Elías Valiña.

He was a parish priest in O Cebreiro between 1959 and 1989 and a scholar of the Way of Saint James with wide variety of studies about it. He promoted restorations of the church and the village and also devised and painted the yellow arrows along the Way to guide pilgrims.

There is a bust of D. Elías beside the monolith and more commemorative plaques.

Today the bust of D. Elías Valiña is covered with snow beside the Hostel of San Giraldo de Aurillac.
