Today we are in Vilatuxe. It is one of the 52 parishes which belong to the municipality of Lalín. This town is located inland in the Province of Pontevedra. It is at the geographic center of Galicia. River Beach Pozo do Boi is located on the course of the River Deza.
Recent snowfalls and rains increase the flow of the River Deza in just 15 days.
The Deza approaches the river beach.
The river beach and its recreational area have two parts both sides of the river. We can see in the following pictures, from the green area, the oak forest on the other bank of the river.
We can see the green area and the river about to overflow.
We cross to the other bank of the river by the stone bridge. Supports on which are placed in summer the locks to fill the swimming pool and to control the river level can be seen to the left of the bridge. The river continues its normal course now in winter.
We can see from the bridge the Deza downriver.
But that day we couldn´t take the picture from the bridge…
There is a disabled access as can be seen to the left of the picture after crossing the river through the bridge. There are children´s playground, a large car park and toilets too.
We can see the bridge to the right of the picture.
We return to the bridge. The path climbs slightly. There are a car park area and other facilities.
We follow the wall around the whole area.
We return to the river. We see the River Deza once again before we leave. It is not a ´goodbye´ but a ´see you soon´.
