The chapel del Santísimo also called de San Andrés was built by Bishop Juan Fernández de Sotomayor II who was buried in it. Also other bishops of different historical periods are buried there. The beginning of the works took place in 1419 and was completed in 1464. It is of Gothic style and it is situated in the northwestern corner of the Cathedral. The chapel forms part of the tower of San Andrés that has three floors.

The present entrance door we can see to the left is of 1767. The original door that was in the center of the chapel was walled up.

The Gothic vault that covers the chapel is eight ribs.
